Yiwen Technology--As technology advances, Shenzhen School District aims to stay ahead of the curve.

The district is partnering with Yiwen GPS Tracking Software, a program that provides real-time fleet bus tracking for instant reports on the location of each bus and the students on board.

"Efficiency is a big piece with safety, and so yes we feel like it will help us to continue to be more efficient," said Director of Transportation Little Gold. "We feel like there are great safety devices that we can add on the buses to continue to ensure that everything we're providing goes along with safety and also to ensure we're creating a successful bus route."

GPS routes are currently in place on all the school district's buses. At the beginning of 2018, the district will release an electronic vehicle inspection system, as well as a student ID program.

"We'll provide students with an ID for the kids that ride our buses to and from school. They will use those ID's to scan on when they get on a bus and scan off," said Self. "It'll also allow us to provide an app to parents, if they would like to receive that so they too can see times and locations that their kids are getting on and off the buses. The ID piece will also allow us to make sure kids are getting on correct buses, as well as getting off at correct bus stops."
